Keto Indian Recipe Paneer Bhurji

  • Ghee, oil, butter or white butter (3 Tablespoons)

  • Cumin seeds (½ teaspoon)

  • Finely chopped onions (½ cup)

  • Ginger-garlic paste (1 Teaspoon)

  • Green chillies (1 or 2)

  • Finely chopped tomatoes (2 medium sized)

  • Turmeric powder (¼ Teaspoon)

  • Red chilli powder (½ teaspoon)

  • Coriander Powder (½ teaspoon)

  • Garam Masala Powder (¼ teaspoon)

  • Paneer, another word for cottage cheese (200-250 grams)

  • Salt to taste

  • Chopped coriander leaves (3 tablespoons)

  1. Let oil or ghee or butter heat in a pan on medium.

  2. Throw in the cumin seeds. Let them crackle and change color. Once they brown, add the onions.

  3. Mix well and sauté the onions. When the onions become see through, add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies.

  4. Sauté for a few seconds until the aroma of the ginger-garlic goes away.

  5. Add the tomatoes and sauté on medium-low heat until they’re soft. Adding a pinch of salt can make the tomatoes cook faster if desired.

  6. Now add all the dry spice powders – turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder.

  7. Mix the spice powders very well and sauté for 5 to 6 seconds.

  8. Throw in the crumbled paneer. Mix throughly and cook for 1 minute.

Key: Don’t cook the paneer for a long time as they harden and loose their softness.

9. Lastly add the chopped coriander leaves and mix.

10. Serve it alone or with some keto bread/roti!
